The Volusia County Property Appraiser

As the Volusia County Property Appraiser, you are responsible for creating the ad valorem tax roll for the county. Your job involves following Florida Statutes and the Substantive Regulations of the Florida Department of Revenue. The Volusia County Property Appraiser is an independent professional who must be unbiased and follow the Florida Statutes and regulations when valuing your property.

Tax valuation

The Volusia County Property Appraiser is responsible for the creation of the annual ad valorem tax roll for Volusia County. This process is done in accordance with Florida Statutes and the Florida Department of Revenue Substantive Regulations.

This process is based on the just value of all real property in the county. This value is the total estimated market value of real property in the county, and it includes any exemptions or other considerations. The property appraiser prepares this report using a computerized appraisal system called CAMA.

Homestead exemption

If you’re a homeowner in Volusia County, Florida, you may be wondering if you qualify for the homestead exemption. This exemption applies to homes with an assessed value of $100,000 or more. While this can be a huge benefit to many homeowners, it’s not available for all of them. You’ll have to apply for it each time you move, since it doesn’t automatically transfer from one home to another. To get the process started, you need to complete the application and provide the appropriate documentation. Typically, you’ll need to present a Florida ID card from the Department of Motor Vehicles. In addition, you’ll need to provide the Social Security number for you and your spouse, even if they don’t live at the property.

The State of Florida also has a consumer price index that you can use to determine if you qualify for the homestead exemption. This index can be found on the Department of Revenue’s website. Once you’ve found out if you qualify for the homestead exemption, you can apply to have your home assessed at the lower value.

Computer aided mass appraisal system

Volusia County uses a CAMA system for its assessment roll. The system holds all the necessary data, allowing the property appraiser to calculate tax rolls and mail bills to households. It also helps assessors update legal information and investigate discrepancies in grantor names and descriptions.

The Volusia County Property Appraiser’s office also provides forms and databases. These tools can be used to calculate property values, file appeals, and apply for tax exemptions. They can also help homeowners navigate through the property tax limits. And if you disagree with their assessments, you can file an appeal with the Value Adjustment Board.

Office of the volusia county property appraiser

The Volusia County Property Appraiser is responsible for creating the county’s annual ad valorem tax roll. In this role, he must follow Florida Statutes and the Florida Department of Revenue Substantive Regulations. Among other duties, he also conducts appraisals of property.

The Volusia County Property Appraiser has the authority to determine the taxable value of a property based on the property’s features and the fair market value of comparable properties. For your convenience, the Volusia County Property Appraiser accepts payments at the county tax collector’s and treasurer’s offices.
